Headliners 2026

Tons of Rock 2026 brings together four of rock’s biggest names for a four-day celebration at Ekebergsletta. One of Europe’s strongest metal and rock festival lineups of the year.

Iron Maiden – Thursday 25 June

The British heavy metal legends headline Thursday night. Active since 1975, Iron Maiden are widely regarded as the most important act in Tons of Rock history. Expect a two-hour theatrical spectacle with Eddie, pyrotechnics and classics spanning five decades.

🏼
Bring Me the Horizon – Wednesday 24 June

The Sheffield band opens the festival as Wednesday headliner. BMTH have evolved from metalcore pioneers to one of the world’s most ambitious rock acts, headlining arenas across Europe. Their setlist spans Post Human, Sempiternal and beyond.

🎵
YUNGBLUD – Friday 26 June

Dominic Harrison (known as YUNGBLUD) headlines Friday with his high-energy blend of punk, rock and pop. One of the most energetic live performers of his generation, expect an explosive set and a crowd that knows every word.

🔥
Limp Bizkit – Saturday 27 June

Fred Durst and co. close the festival in style on Saturday night. Limp Bizkit are one of the best-selling nu-metal acts of all time, with over 40 million records sold. Expect Rollin’, Break Stuff, Nookie and pure 2000s nostalgia energy.

Beyond the headliners: Alice Cooper (Thursday), Twisted Sister (Saturday), A Perfect Circle (Friday), BABYMETAL (Wednesday), Mayhem (Friday), Anthrax, The Offspring, Trivium, Tom Morello, The Hives, Sepultura (farewell Norway show) and many more.

The four stages

Tons of Rock 2026 runs four stages simultaneously across the Ekebergsletta grounds. Each stage has its own character, from the massive main arena to the intimate underground tent. Download the official app for the full stage-by-stage schedule.

🎶
Scream Stage – Main stage

The centrepiece of the festival, large enough to hold all attendees for the biggest headliners. All four headliners perform here: Iron Maiden, Bring Me the Horizon, YUNGBLUD and Limp Bizkit. The VIP area with its raised tribune is positioned in front of this stage.

Storm Stage

The second-largest stage, hosting major international acts each day. In 2026 this includes Alice Cooper, A Perfect Circle, The Offspring, Twisted Sister and Tom Morello. Excellent sightlines and a large crowd area.

🏔
Avalanche Stage

A mid-size stage with a passionate, dedicated fanbase. Known for strong metal bookings and a tight-knit atmosphere. Great for discovering acts you might otherwise miss.

🔥
Outbreak Stage

The most intimate stage at Tons of Rock, featuring emerging and underground acts. Renowned for its high energy and close crowd-artist interaction. This is where you find tomorrow’s headliners today.

How to get to Tons of Rock

Ekebergsletta is well connected to Oslo city centre by public transport. The festival strongly discourages driving. There is no public parking for festival visitors on site.

🚌
Festival shuttle bus (recommended)

Route 91 “Tons of Rock” runs direct from Oslo city centre to Ekebergsletta from 11:00 on all festival days (Wednesday–Saturday). Return buses run until after the last act. Requires a Ruter Zone 1 ticket.

🚉
Tram 13 / 19

Tram 13 (toward Ljabru) or tram 19 (toward Nordstrand) to Sportsplassen stop, then a 10-minute walk to the festival entrance. Trams run frequently from Jernbanetorget (Oslo S) and Nationalteatret.

🚋
Metro (T-bane)

Metro line 1 or 4 to Brattlikollen, then approximately 20 minutes on foot to the festival site via Ekebergveien. Not the fastest option but a pleasant walk through Ekeberg park.

From Oslo Airport (Gardermoen)

Take the Airport Express Train (Flytoget) or NSB train to Oslo S (19–22 min, NOK 190–240). From Oslo S, take tram 13/19 to Sportsplassen or the festival shuttle bus. Total: approx. 45–60 minutes from the airport.

All Oslo public transport uses the Ruter ticketing system. A Zone 1 single ticket costs approx. NOK 40. Download the free Ruter app before you travel: ticket machines at stops sometimes reject foreign cards, but the app accepts international Visa/Mastercard. A 24-hour pass (approx. NOK 100) is worth it if you use transport more than twice in a day.

Sunscreen is recommended for sunny afternoons. Norwegian summers can also bring occasional heatwaves. Dress in layers you can add or remove through the day.
Festival tickets are digital and scanned at the gate on first entry. You then receive a fabric wristband – keep it on for the full festival as it is your re-entry pass. Wristbands are colour-coded by day. VIP wristbands grant access to the VIP tribune at the Scream Stage. Age wristbands: under-18s receive a separate wristband prohibiting alcohol purchase; ages 18–19 get a wristband allowing beer and wine only (spirits require age 20 in Norway). Bring a valid ID (passport, national ID card, or physical driver’s licence) – digital licences are not accepted at bars. Do not remove your wristband between festival days.
